Continue on the A5029 going straight through the first set of lights until you reach the second set of traffic lights at Standish Village. (At this point you can also follow signs for Haigh Hall Country Park as they will take you the same destination). You are still on the A5029 and are heading for Wigan town centre. At the end of dual carriage way you reach a junction, turn Left for Wigan (A49). You are now on a dual carriage way for approximately 600 yards. Get in the left hand lane of the slip road and take the A5029 which is the first left turn off the roundabout at the top of the slip road. The Athertons’ Social Company group continues to run a number of restaurants overseas in locations including Dubai, China and Greece, alongside its six London restaurants. It was well-received, with The New York Times critic Pete Wells giving it a two-star (very good) rating.ĭishes on the menu include Berkshire pork chop with bubble and squeak cake, apple and fennel salad tandoori chicken with coconut basmati rice, almond, pistachio, raisins, cucumber and cilantro yoghurt and shepherd’s pie with Montogmery cheddar, parsley and lemon breadcrumbs. The Athertons’ first and only US project, The Clocktower is billed as offering ‘a taste of London in bustling Madison Square Park’. They added that they would ‘deeply miss operating a restaurant in New York’ and that they ‘can’t wait to be back in the vibrant city soon’.
